Terms of Service

Last updated August 26, 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of Pattern Builder, a service provided by Stitched Form.

These Terms apply to the Pattern Builder features currently available to you.

Prelaunch Notice

Pattern Builder account creation, memberships, and paid pattern purchases are not yet publicly available. Sections describing those features will apply when the applicable feature launches. Publishing these Terms does not mean that an unreleased feature is currently available.

By using Pattern Builder, and later by creating an account or using paid Pattern Builder services when offered, you agree to these Terms.

1. What Pattern Builder Provides

Pattern Builder provides tools, patterns, measurements, cut lists, instructions, and related resources for cartonnage and craft projects.

Some Pattern Builder projects are available free of charge and can be used without an account.

Other features require an account, an active membership, or a one-time purchase of access to an individual pattern.

2. Eligibility

Pattern Builder is a general-audience crafting service and is not directed to children under 13.

You must be at least 13 years old to create your own Pattern Builder account.

If you are under 18, you may create an account or make purchases only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian.

Children may participate in crafting projects under the supervision of a parent or guardian, but children under 13 may not create their own Pattern Builder account.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Pattern Builder account and for activity occurring through it.

Accounts may be used on multiple personal devices.

Members of the same household may share an account. For example, a parent and child living in the same household may use the same Pattern Builder account.

Accounts may not be shared among people in different households, including friends, coworkers, craft groups, clubs, classes, or other groups.

Purchases, memberships, saved projects, and access rights remain associated with the account through which they were obtained.

4. Free Patterns

Pattern Builder may make certain patterns and customization features available for free.

An account is not required merely to use free patterns unless you want to save your customization.

Free patterns are provided so users can experience Pattern Builder before purchasing access or membership.

Free offerings may change over time.

5. Membership

Pattern Builder may offer a recurring paid membership.

Unless otherwise clearly stated before purchase, an active membership provides access to all paid Pattern Builder patterns and their customization features during the membership period, including new paid patterns added while the membership remains active.

Membership benefits and features may evolve as Pattern Builder develops.

If Stitched Form later introduces a separate premium product or tier that is not included in the standard membership, that difference will be disclosed before purchase.

Recurring Billing

Memberships renew automatically at the billing interval and price shown at checkout until canceled.

If membership pricing changes for existing subscribers, reasonable advance notice will be provided before the new price applies to a future renewal.

There is no membership free trial unless one is expressly offered at checkout. Free Pattern Builder projects are available separately for users who want to try the service before subscribing.

6. Canceling Membership

You may cancel your membership through your Pattern Builder Account page.

If you cancel normally:

  • Future renewals stop.
  • You retain membership access through the end of the billing period you already paid for.
  • Membership-only access ends when that paid billing period expires.
  • Individually purchased pattern access is not affected.

Saved projects associated with membership-only patterns may remain in your account after cancellation, but they will be disabled until you renew your membership or separately buy access to the applicable pattern.

7. Failed Membership Payments

If a membership payment fails, Pattern Builder may allow temporary continued access while Stripe attempts to recover payment.

If payment cannot ultimately be collected, the membership may be canceled and membership-only access disabled.

Individually purchased pattern access is not affected by a failed membership payment.

8. Individual Pattern Purchases

Pattern Builder may allow you to make a one-time purchase to Buy Access to an individual pattern.

An individual pattern purchase is not a subscription and does not create recurring charges.

Buying access to a pattern allows you to:

  • Use that pattern without an active membership
  • Customize the pattern
  • Save customizations to your account
  • Return later and edit those customizations
  • Generate new PDFs from that pattern

This access continues for as long as Pattern Builder remains in operation, subject to these Terms.

A later price increase for the same pattern does not require an existing purchaser to pay the difference.

If a purchased pattern is later retired or substantially redesigned, Stitched Form will make reasonable efforts to preserve access to the version previously purchased for as long as Pattern Builder continues operating.

Purchases are tied to the purchasing account and are non-transferable.

Pattern Builder does not offer gifting of pattern access unless expressly stated otherwise.

9. Downloaded PDFs and Service Availability

Pattern Builder PDFs are generated when you request them.

Pattern Builder does not store generated PDFs for you. You are responsible for saving any PDFs you wish to keep on your own device.

Any PDF you have already downloaded remains yours to keep and use under the license described in these Terms.

If Pattern Builder is discontinued:

  • Online customization may no longer be available.
  • Previously purchased patterns may no longer be available for re-download or regeneration.
  • Previously downloaded PDFs will remain on your device.

When reasonably possible, Stitched Form will provide advance notice before permanently discontinuing Pattern Builder so users have an opportunity to download PDFs they wish to retain.

However, uninterrupted or indefinite operation of Pattern Builder cannot be guaranteed.

10. Account Deletion

You may delete your account from the Pattern Builder Account page.

For security, reauthentication may be required before deletion.

Deleting your account will:

  • Delete saved projects and customizations
  • Remove purchased-pattern access from Pattern Builder
  • Remove membership access
  • Cancel any active Pattern Builder subscription
  • End your ability to re-customize or regenerate purchased patterns through that account

Account deletion takes effect immediately.

If you delete your account during a paid membership period, you give up any remaining membership access and are not automatically entitled to a prorated refund.

Historical Stripe payment records may continue to exist after account deletion.

If you later contact Stitched Form regarding a previous purchase, Stitched Form may choose to review available transaction records and restore access, but restoration is not automatic or guaranteed.

11. Refunds

Refund requests are reviewed individually.

Stitched Form may issue full or partial refunds when appropriate, including for billing mistakes, technical issues, duplicate purchases, or other reasonable circumstances.

No particular refund window is guaranteed unless required by applicable law.

Refunds are processed through Stripe to the applicable payment method when possible.

Nothing in these Terms limits refund or consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.

12. Taxes

Applicable taxes may be calculated and collected through Stripe during checkout.

Users are responsible for any taxes or charges applicable to their purchase except where Stitched Form is required to collect them directly.

When paid Pattern Builder purchases launch, they are expected to be offered initially to customers in the United States.

13. Pattern License

Access to a Pattern Builder pattern gives you a license to use the pattern. It does not transfer ownership of the underlying copyright, software, illustrations, instructions, or other Stitched Form intellectual property.

You May

You may:

  • Use Pattern Builder patterns for personal projects.
  • Change dimensions, materials, shapes, construction details, or other aspects of the pattern for your own use.
  • Make finished physical items using a Pattern Builder pattern.
  • Sell handmade finished physical items you make using Pattern Builder patterns.
  • Make commissioned finished items for clients.
  • Make and sell multiple handmade finished items without paying a per-item royalty.
  • Share photos and videos of your finished projects or works in progress.
  • Show incidental or limited glimpses of a pattern or instructions in social-media content, provided the content does not reveal enough information to substitute for obtaining the pattern.
  • Truthfully say that an item was made using a Pattern Builder or Stitched Form pattern.
  • Tag or credit Stitched Form when sharing your work.

Credit is appreciated but is not required.

You May Not

You may not:

  • Use Pattern Builder files for mass manufacturing or third-party factory production without written permission from Stitched Form.
  • Use Stitched Form or Pattern Builder branding on modified or independently distributed pattern files in a way that suggests they are official Stitched Form materials.

14. Teaching and Workshops

Pattern Builder patterns and instructional materials are part of the educational content provided by Stitched Form.

You may not use Pattern Builder patterns or instructions as the basis of a paid or organized:

  • Class
  • Workshop
  • Course
  • Tutorial program
  • Group instruction program

without prior permission from Stitched Form.

If you would like to teach using a Pattern Builder project, contact hi@stitchedform.com to request permission.

15. Stitched Form Name and Branding

You may truthfully identify a finished project as having been made using a Stitched Form or Pattern Builder pattern and may tag Stitched Form on social media.

Doing so does not create an endorsement, partnership, sponsorship, employment relationship, or other affiliation with Stitched Form.

You may not use the Stitched Form or Pattern Builder name, logo, branding, or pattern attribution in a way that:

  • Falsely suggests endorsement or official affiliation
  • Misrepresents your work as an official Stitched Form product
  • Is associated with hateful, discriminatory, harassing, threatening, abusive, or illegal content
  • Damages or intentionally misrepresents the Stitched Form or Pattern Builder brand

16. Prohibited Use of the Service

You may not:

  • Circumvent payment or access controls
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another account
  • Scrape or systematically extract Pattern Builder content
  • Use automated tools to copy the Pattern Builder pattern library
  • Reverse engineer Pattern Builder except where such restriction is prohibited by law
  • Attempt to recreate or extract Pattern Builder's proprietary application logic for redistribution
  • Interfere with the security or normal operation of the service
  • Introduce malicious software or code
  • Use Pattern Builder for unlawful activity

17. Craft Safety and Responsibility

Pattern Builder provides measurements, instructions, and other information as a crafting aid.

Craft projects may involve tools and materials such as:

  • Utility knives and cutting tools
  • Needles
  • Irons and other heat sources
  • Adhesives and glue
  • Chipboard and cardstock
  • Fabrics and other materials

You are responsible for selecting appropriate tools and materials, using them safely, following manufacturer instructions, supervising minors when appropriate, and determining whether a project is suitable for you.

Stitched Form is not responsible for injuries, property damage, or other losses caused by improper or unsafe use of tools or materials.

18. Accuracy of Patterns

We make reasonable efforts to provide accurate measurements, calculations, cut lists, and instructions.

However, craft results can vary based on materials, measurements, tools, technique, construction choices, and other factors.

Pattern Builder patterns, measurements, instructions, calculations, and generated PDFs may occasionally contain errors.

Stitched Form may correct or update patterns, calculations, instructions, or application behavior as issues are discovered or improved techniques are developed.

You are responsible for reviewing measurements and instructions before cutting materials or beginning construction.

19. Changes to Pattern Builder

Pattern Builder is an evolving service.

Stitched Form may:

  • Add or remove features
  • Change application design or functionality
  • Update patterns
  • Improve customization options
  • Change membership benefits
  • Change free offerings
  • Retire patterns
  • Change prices
  • Change the technology used to provide the service

These changes will not require an existing individual-pattern purchaser to pay an increased price simply to maintain the purchased access described in these Terms while Pattern Builder remains available.

20. Suspension and Termination

Stitched Form may suspend or terminate an account for material violations of these Terms, including:

  • Redistributing Pattern Builder content
  • Sharing paid access outside the permitted household
  • Circumventing payment controls
  • Scraping the service
  • Fraud
  • Security abuse
  • Unauthorized teaching or redistribution
  • Other misuse that materially harms Pattern Builder, Stitched Form, or its users

Termination for a material violation does not automatically entitle the user to a refund, except where required by law.

21. Third-Party Services

Pattern Builder depends on third-party services, including services used for authentication, payments, hosting, email, analytics, and infrastructure.

Those services may experience outages, errors, or changes outside Stitched Form's control.

Use of certain third-party services may also be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

22. Disclaimer of Warranties

Pattern Builder is provided on an “as available” basis.

To the extent permitted by law, Stitched Form does not guarantee that:

  • Pattern Builder will always be available or uninterrupted
  • Every feature will always remain available
  • Every pattern or calculation will be error-free
  • Every project will produce a particular result
  • Pattern Builder will work with every device, browser, material, tool, or construction method

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

23. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Stitched Form will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages arising from use of Pattern Builder or projects made using its materials.

To the extent permitted by law, Stitched Form's total liability arising from a paid Pattern Builder product or service will not exceed the amount paid by the user for the product or service giving rise to the claim.

These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law.

24. Legal Compliance

Stitched Form may take reasonable steps necessary to comply with applicable law, legal process, fraud-prevention requirements, security obligations, or lawful governmental requests.

25. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Nothing in these Terms removes consumer rights that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.

These Terms do not require mandatory arbitration.

26. Changes to These Terms

Pattern Builder will evolve, and these Terms may be updated from time to time.

The Last updated date at the top will indicate the current version.

If a change materially affects existing users or their rights, reasonable notice may be provided.

Where appropriate, existing account holders may be required to accept materially updated Terms before continuing to use account-based features.
