Wrapping Circles

Glue the chipboard to the wrong side of its face fabric, following the placement and allowance shown in the pattern.

Apply glue to the curved chipboard edge. Wrap the long fabric strip around the full perimeter, keeping it smooth and even. Overlap the ends of the strip securely.

Cut evenly spaced triangular notches into the strip allowance on both faces. Cut close to the chipboard without cutting into the wrapped edge.

Apply glue to the tabs. Fold them onto the flat faces a few at a time, overlapping them so the curved edge stays smooth. Continue around both sides of the panel.

Center the cardstock lining card on the wrong side of its fabric and glue it in place.

Cut evenly spaced triangular notches around the fabric allowance. Stop each cut just before the cardstock edge so the visible edge remains fully covered.

Apply glue to the notched fabric allowance. Fold the tabs over the cardstock edge a few at a time, smoothing each tab toward the center and overlapping neighboring tabs neatly.

Continue around the full circle or oval. Check the front for a smooth curve, then dry the wrapped lining card flat under weight.
